Mass Suspension of MPs: Continuous Uproar in Parliament
The ongoing uproar in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over the recent security lapse persists for the fourth consecutive day, leading to suspensions and disruptions. All these MPs were creating ruckus demanding the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the Parliament Security Breach case that took place on December 13. In the afternoon, a total of 33 opposition MPs in the Lok Sabha were suspended for the remaining session. Now in the evening, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhad suspended 45 opposition MPs.

Mass Suspension of MPs: Suspension continuous
Earlier on December 14, 13 MPs were suspended from the Lok Sabha. TMC MP Derek O’Brien was suspended from Rajya Sabha. A total of 92 MPs have been suspended since the winter session. A total of 46 MPs have been suspended in the Lok Sabha so far. A total of 45 MPs have been suspended in Rajya Sabha also.
There was uproar in the Lok Sabha for the fourth consecutive day on the issue of security lapse in Parliament. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla suspended 33 MPs. These include 11 Congress MPs including leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, 9 from Trinamool Congress, 9 from DMK and 4 MPs from other parties. After the suspension of the MPs, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till Tuesday.
Mass Suspension of MPs: Mallikarjun Kharge charge
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called the suspension of MPs an attack on democracy. He said- “First the infiltrators attacked the Parliament. Now the Modi government is attacking the Parliament and democracy. In the autocratic Modi government, democratic standards are being thrown into the dustbin by suspending 47 MPs. Our demand is that Home Minister Amit Shah should make a statement on this issue in both the Houses and there should be a discussion on it.”

- Congress MPs TN Prathapan, Hibi, Dean Kuriakose, Manickam, MD Javed, Jothimani, Ramya, VK Srikandan and Benny Behanan have been suspended.
- CPI-M’s PR Natarajan and S Venkatesan,
- DMK’s Kanimozhi
- CPI’s Subbarayan
- Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien
In Total 9 leaders of Congress, 2 of CPI (M), one leader each of DMK and CPI were suspended from the Lok Sabha.
Mass Suspension of MPs: Om Birla
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said before the suspension that a high-level investigation is going on into the Parliament security lapse. An investigation committee has been formed in this matter. Even in the past, when such incidents happened, the investigation process proceeded only through former speakers. It is unfortunate that politics is taking place regarding this incident. Discussion should take place in the House only under the democratic system, it was a humble and continuous request from Speaker Om Birla.
The Speaker said, “It is not right to raise slogans in the House, bring placards, come to the well in protest, come near Asandi. The people of the country also do not like this conduct. The MPs who have been suspended from the Lok Sabha, The security lapse is not related to the case.”
